# Heirloom Cacao Preservation Fund (HCP)

## Mission

HCP operates under a "One Mission, Three Communities" framework:

- **Farmers**: Cacao growers around the world who cultivate heirloom varieties. HCP provides recognition, resources, and an application program for designation.
- **Chocolatiers**: Chocolate makers who source and work with heirloom cacao. HCP offers an 8-step submission protocol and a resource library.
- **Supporters**: Donors and partners who fund cacao preservation through direct contributions (via Stripe).

Heirloom-designated cacao varieties are identified through sensory evaluation and genetic analysis, then cataloged with their geographic origin, farmer profile, and flavor characteristics.

Each designated farmer entry includes:

- Farmer and farm name
- Country and region (e.g. "Malagos, Baguio District, Philippines")
- Heirloom designation code (e.g. "HCP #19 - 2024")
- Bursary sponsor name
- Farm cover image and farmer portrait
- Cacao composition images
- Description of the farm and cacao variety
- Geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) for the interactive globe
- Map region classification: Americas & Caribbean, Africa & Europe, or Asia-Pacific
