BE THE CHANGE.
The Heirloom Cacao Preservation Fund's Adopt a Tree Campaign has turned a new (cacao) leaf. The new program will be once a year for one week long, and replace our current monthly adoption program.
Biological diversity is often understood in terms of the wide variety of plants, animals and microorganisms, but it also includes genetic differences within each species — for example, between varieties of crops and breeds of livestock — and the variety of ecosystems (lakes, forest, deserts, agricultural landscapes) that host multiple kind of interactions among their members (humans, plants, animals).

From ecosystem-based approaches to climate and/or nature-based solutions to climate, health issues, food and water security and sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity is the foundation upon which we can build back better, but we need your help.
Join us on the fight to preserve biodiversity through Heirloom Cacao. From May 22nd to May 28th, 2023, you can adopt or plant a tree that will celebrate International Biodiversity Day and every day that follows. Create a long-lasting impact on the environment with a seemingly small act. By adopting or planting an Heirloom Cacao tree, you are directly supporting the farming communities that are the very fruit of what we believe in—the people who have dedicated their lives to create bio-diverse universes through crop diversification and shade trees for their exceptional cacao varieties. Your adoption will also be a significant support for the HCP to be able to continue carrying out or mission to "discover, identify and preserve fine flavor Heirloom cacao varieties for the conservation of biological diversity and the empowerment of farming communities”. Also, you get some of the world's finest chocolate! What are you waiting for? Choose from an adoption plan below. |
