Our Mission

To discover, identify and preserve fine flavor Heirloom cacao varieties for the conservation of biological diversity and the empowerment of farming communities.
We are a non-profit organization, working alongside the United States Department of Agriculture, to protect the heritage of exceptional chocolate. Our global community – comprised of chocolate makers, farmers, industry leaders, and passionate enthusiasts – is committed to preserving the rapidly disappearing cacao trees that yield the highest quality, most exquisite chocolate.

To that end, we have designated trees on a number of farms around the globe as
 Heirloom.

Meet our Designees
The HCP is the global leader in conserving Heirloom cacao and strengthening the relationships between all stakeholders in the cacao supply chain,
from farmers to consumers, by fostering demand for these unique cacaos
for
future generations.
We identify and preserve fine-flavor, Heirloom cacao by recognizing growers for their exceptional beans. We provide educational resources and training for farmers to help them understand the value of their cacao, and how to maintain the highest standard of quality and facilitate connections to craft chocolate markets worldwide.
